Saphira Concept

I'm having mixed feelings about this one. It's actually for school (wow seriously, I get to paint my own Inheritance concept art in school and I get to do it digitally? this is paradise ) and I believe this will be good enough for my teacher, but personally I'm not that satisfied. : P

I believe she turned out looking too cartoony for my taste... I'm content with the way her body looks, but it was difficult to balance her being a very strong dragon and at the same time being "built for flying." Also, the scales? gah I don't know. :s I think I overall did a pretty good job, but I would lie if I said she looks like I imagined her in the books.. o_o
